The San Geronimo Valley is the sort of place where people really get to know their neighbors. The area’s communities of Lagunitas, Forest Knolls, San Geronimo, Woodacre and Nicasio have a true small town, countryside feel, yet are close enough to San Francisco for a reasonable commute and near enough to the county’s other towns for easy access to all of Marin’s services.
The valley offers many of its own charming amenities. Woodacre Country Market and Deli is loved by locals and an ideal spot to stop on your way to the coast, and Lagunitas Groceries and Deli is a favorite place for cyclists to rest and rehydrate. Eateries include Two Bird Cafe, Arti Indian Organic Natural Cafe, and Rancho Nicasio Bar & Restaurant, which serves as a local nightlife spot with an impressive live music lineup.
San Geronimo Valley truly is an idyllic setting with rolling hills, wide-open meadows and crystal clear creeks providing unsurpassed access to myriad outdoor activities as well as world-class golf at San Geronimo Golf Course. Samuel P. Taylor State Park covers more than 2,700 acres of wooded countryside with rolling hills of coastal redwoods and open grasslands. The park features hiking trails, mountain biking and equestrian trails, 60 developed campsites, 16 tent-only campsites, six ADA sites, two group tent sites and an equestrian group site.
San Geronimo Valley Community Center offers weekly events, senior classes, kid’s camps, and more. The Center has become a focal point for programs in the arts, human services and for community events and activities. Also high on San Geronimo Valley’s bragging list are the Lagunitas and San Geronimo schools, which give parents a choice between open classroom, Montessori, and Waldorf-Inspired programs. Take the time to slow your pace and drink in all that the Valley has to offer.
