Chris Backer is uniquely equipped to protect his clients' interests. With more than five years of experience from the legal industry relating to real estate and land use law, he has a rich understanding of contracts and disclosures -- a skillset that gives a competitive edge to both buyers and sellers. As the first point of contact for his attorney's clients, Chris became known for his personable nature and enthusiastic attitude. Becoming a Realtor was a natural progression in his career, coupling his previous work experience in real estate with his current passion for helping people find their dream home, while making sound investments.
Now in his fifteenth year in the industry, Chris views himself more than just a salesperson but as an educator in the multi-faceted, ever-changing world of real estate. He finds that having an honest and open dialogue creates for a better overall experience, as well as a more successful transaction. From initial contact to close, Chris' ultimate goal is about building long lasting and trust-filled relationships throughout the community.
Chris volunteers on various Boards of Directors including the Marin Association of Realtors (2019/2020 President), the California Association of Realtors, and recently sunsetting his time on the UC Davis Young Alumni Board of the College of Letters and Science. In these capacities, he champions for local and statewide private property rights on the Realtor boards, as well as inspiring and mentoring new alumni in life and business from UC Davis in the Bay Area.
Chris is a proud Bay Area native who graduated from U.C. Davis. Outside of work, he and his wife Grace, a science teacher at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, are usually doing something outside. Some highlights include attending Giants games at Oracle Park, walking/biking the many trails here locally, or shucking and barbecuing oysters on Tomales Bay. And of course, attending to their new daughters Amelia and Rebecca.
